How to install Indexhibit on the yourarthere.net web server

Indexhibit is a web application for artists and galleries that combines a simple and minimal layout with a graphical interface to manage images, video, sound, and text.

Indexhibit runs great on the yourarthere.net server and it is very easy to install. Here are the steps to install Indexhibit, don't hesitate to contact support for assistance.

  1. Download Indexhibit.
  2. Unzip their folder and FTP the contents to the httpdocs directory.
  3. Using your FTP client, change permissions for the following directories to 777
    1. files
    2. files/gimgs
    3. ndxz-studio/config
  4. Create a database for Indexhibit
    1. Login to Plesk and select your domain
    2. Inside Databases, click Add New Database
    3. Enter a name for the database and click OK. Save this information in a safe place.
    4. Click Add New Database User
    5. Enter a user name and password and click OK. Save this information as well.
  5. Go to the URL: yourdomainname.com/ndxz-studio/install.php and follow the instructions.
  6. On page 2 you will enter your database information from above
    1. Exhibition Name: the name of your site.
    2. Database Server: "localhost" (without quotes).
    3. Database Name: the name of your database.
    4. Database Username: the username of your database user.
    5. Database Password: the password for your database user.
  7. After installation delete 'install.php' from the ndxz-studio directory. This is very important, your website could be hacked if you don't do this.
