How to install Indexhibit on the yourarthere.net web server

Indexhibit is a web application for artists or galleries that combines a simple and minimal layout with a graphical interface to manage images, video, sound, and text. Indexhibit runs great on the yourarthere.net server and it is very easy to install. Contact support for assistance.

Here are the steps to install Indexhibit:

  1. Download Indexhibit.
  2. Unzip and upload the files to your domain using FTP.
  3. On the server, change permissions for the following directories to 777: 'files,' 'files/gimgs,' and 'ndxz-studio/config.'
  4. In Plesk, create a MySQL database to hold your content (see instructions below).
  5. Go to the URL: yourdomainname.com/ndxz-studio/install.php and follow the instructions.
  6. After installation delete 'install.php' from the ndxz-studio directory.
  7. If you are happy with Indexhibit you should consider donating to support its development.

To create a database for Indexhibit:

  1. Login to Plesk and click on your domain
  2. Click Databases
  3. Click Add New Database
  4. Enter a name for the database and click OK
  5. Click Add New Database User
  6. Enter a user name and password and click OK
  7. The database host should be: localhost
