How to upload your website with FTP

The File Transfer Protocal or FTP is the easiest way to connect to the yourarthere.net webserver and upload images and web pages. There are plenty of free software available whether you are using Windows, a Mac, or Linux. To begin, follow the instructions below:
1. Download an FTP application:
- Cyberduck (mac)
- FireFTP (all platforms)
- Using Filezilla (all platforms)
2. Choose File > Open Connection or click Open Connection at the top of the browser that opens when you launch Cyberduck. You can also choose Bookmark > New Bookmark if you want to save your connection for future use (you should only do this on your own computer).
3. In the Open Connection dialog box enter the following information (found in your dashboard) and click Connect:
- Server: yourdomain.com
- Username: yourusername
- Password: yourpassword
- Path (under More Options): httpdocs
4. Verify that the browser is now showing the view of your server files and directories:
5. Feel free to delete all the files and directories that are there by default.
6. Upload your website by dragging your files into the Cyberduck browser.
