Pyrology (the study of fire) is a new series of light paintings made exclusively using fireworks. This collection of long exposure photographs continues my exploration of photography as an abstract art form. I've found that fire has a more rich and complex quality of light then electric sources and lends itself well to abstraction. This work tries to capture and preserve the fleeting ecstasy that is intertwined with the setting off and watching of fireworks.
